Esska Shoes — Labour Standards and Human Rights Policy
Last updated: March 2025
1. Introduction
At Esska Shoes, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all our operations. We respect and promote fundamental human rights, and we are dedicated to ensuring fair and safe working conditions throughout our supply chain.
This policy outlines our approach to labour standards, human rights, and our compliance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners working with or on behalf of Esska Shoes.
2. Our Commitment to Human Rights
Esska Shoes is committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights as set out in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) core conventions, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
We actively work to:
- Promote fair wages, safe working environments, and humane working hours.
- Prohibit child labour, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation.
- Support freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
3. Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Esska Shoes recognises its responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chain. We take a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, and human trafficking.
In line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we commit to:
- Conducting due diligence on our suppliers and manufacturers.
- Requiring all suppliers to confirm they comply with applicable labour laws and do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking.
- Including clauses in supplier agreements that prohibit modern slavery.
- Training relevant staff to understand and identify risks of modern slavery.
- Reviewing our processes regularly to improve transparency and mitigate risks.
4. Supply Chain Expectations
All suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners must:
- Adhere to ethical labour practices.
- Demonstrate compliance with all applicable laws, including those related to employment, health and safety, and human rights.
- Allow audits or assessments as part of our ongoing due diligence process.
Failure to meet these expectations may result in termination of contracts or business relationships.
5. Reporting Concerns
Esska Shoes encourages employees, suppliers, and third parties to report any concerns related to unethical practices, including modern slavery, through a confidential channel. We are committed to investigating any such reports and taking appropriate action.
6. Continuous Improvement
We are committed to regularly reviewing and updating our policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements. We aim to work collaboratively with partners to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical sourcing throughout our supply chain.
